 Resources for Senior Residents
CHA actively supports senior residents living safely and independently in its communities.
The following organizations serve Newton County Seniors in doing this.

Senior Services Newton County
Newton County Senior Services is a Recreation and Information Center  at Turner Lake Park for seniors in Newton County who are 55 plus. The Senior Center provides a wide variety of wellness, leisure, and social opportunities for residents of Newton County. There is an annual registration fee and additional fee-based services including meals (breakfast and lunch), transportation to the Senior Center and Home Delivery Meals for those who are registered and homebound.

For enrollment, call 770-787-0038. Registration and/or interviews are conducted on Tuesdays and Fridays only, 1:30 to 3 p.m.
Newton County Senior Services

Meals on Wheels
Home Delivery Meals are available for all qualified seniors who are 60 years old and live in Newton County.
Private Pay Meals are available for residents of Newton County, Contact Teresa Williams with Newton County Senior Services @ 770-787-0038 Ext.1023 for more Information

Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCEP)
State Health Insurance Assistance Program
Volunteer-based program provides free and unbiased information to assist beneficiaries and their caregivers on Medicare, Medicaid and other related health insurance. Georgia SHIP certified Medicare counselors provide one-on-one informational sessions and schedule education and outreach presentations in the community.

Serving Newton County
Georgia's Aging and Disability Resource Connection (ADRC) located in Athens is  a coordinated system of partnering organizations that are dedicated to providing accurate information about publicly and privately financed long-term supports and services.

  • Offering a consumer-oriented approach to learning about the availability of services in the home and community.
  • Alleviating the need for multiple calls and/or visits to receive services.
  • Supporting individuals and family members who are aging or living with a disability.
